Addicted to Growth? How to move to a Steady State Economy in Australia

Does our economy always have to grow? Neither of the renowned economists Adam Smith or John Stuart Mill thought that the economy had to keep growing forever. Since the 1970s scholars such as Prof. Herman Daly have enlarged on the idea of a 'steady state' economy where neither our population nor our resource use keeps on growing. This accepts that the world has limits. Hence we in Australia don’t have to remain addicted to growth.
